31 Days of Costume - October 7, 2012 - The Il Muto Ballet Girls costume

In keeping with the Il Muto scene from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, the daily costume pick is the costume the ballet girls wear during the ballet scene/Joseph Buquet death scene.

These dresses are pink and green with an A line tea length skirt. Pink and green happened to be my main graphic design pallet of colors during college when I was earning my B.F.A as a stepping stone to getting my library degree. I think I was subconsciously choosing these colors based on this costume. Also before my wedding went more in the direction of semi-normal I had dreamed that maybe the girls of my bridal party would wear this costume as a dress.

31 Days of Costume - October 6, 2012 - Carlotta's Il Muto Costume

This costume is quite frilly, some may say it's ridiculous but I do like it because it's pink. This is the costume Carlotta wears during the Il Muto Opera disaster scene from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical.

The costume is a pink and black bustled dress, I think it combines Victorian and Colonial Style but I am not completely sure about that. Even though Carlotta is croaking like a toad, at least she's wearing a great dress for it.

31 Days of Costume - October 5, 2012 - Phantom's Oriental (Mandarin) Robe

This is the costume the phantom wears in the lair scene from the time Christine wakes up in his lair, when she pulls his mask off, when he bears his soul to her, and when he finally returns her to the ground above. Besides Masquerade I believe this is the most colorful costume the phantom wears, to me this is his most ornate. It's also the second hottest costume his first being during the title song and music of the night.

Sexy Phantom October 2012

This month's Sexy Phantom is actually a personal friend of mine! So ladies I've heard rumor that he is seeing someone but if you are interested I'll pass the word along. Larry Saurica earns the title of Sexy Phantom for October 2012. He dressed up as the phantom for the bridal shower my job threw for me in August, I decided since October is the month of Halloween why not pick a person who dressed up in the costume. Larry is in his 60s if age matters to you and you happen to be interested!

31 Days of Costumes - October 4, 2012 - Mme. Giry's every day wear

Although this is a costume simple in color, being that it's all black, I do like Mme. Giry's costume. The only time she changes costumes is during the Masquerade scene. I cal this costume her every day wear because she wears it for most of the play. Once again this is from ALWs musical. Mme. Giry is also a great character, I admire her toughness, along with a slight touch of comedy in the beginning of the musical. She's also the phantom's ally and for that she is more then awesome!

31 Days of Costumes - October 3, 2012 - Christine's Aminta Costume

The much loved Aminta Costume!

I found a wealth of images to share while searching for the Aminta costume. As many readers probably already know, the Aminta costume is worn by Christine during Point of No Return. This is also a costume I'd like to someday make myself (if I can actually start to learn to sew) or find pre-made somewhere, or have it made for me.

I already have a pair of boots I could wear with this costume, although it would be nice to get ones that look more authentic to the costume. The ones I have don't have laces, they go up to the knee, and the heel is higher.

The dress can be pink depending on which version of ALWs musical you are viewing, pink is my absolute favorite color so that's a rock factor right there. The dress has an A line skirt, A lines are flattering to my very curvy recently slightly overweight figure. Who am I kidding? I've been more then slightly overweight my whole life lol This costume is an overall favorite, it's one of my favorites and I've heard many other phans express approval for this costume as well. I almost had my hands on a sewn version of the costume but I lost the bid for it :(

31 Days of Costumes - October 2, 2012 - Christine's Wedding Dress

I missed posting for October 2 and 3, so I'm back posting for those days. I am tending to fixate on Christine's costumes at the moment but there will be other character costumes for these 31 days of costumes, including some for our favorite man!

For October 2 I've chosen Christine's wedding dress. I was feverishly researching this dress when I first started wedding planning. It had been a dream of mine to wear Christine's wedding dress, but my dream is meant to stay a dream unless I have a costume made and wear it for Halloween or cosplay.

The wedding dress version I'm choosing to feature is the one from ALW's musical version. Maria Bjornson designed excellent costumes, so all or most of the costumes featured will probably be from the ALW musical.

Since this is for Halloween might has well feature the costume in action from one of the more bizarre scenes of the show
